She donated to may causes, but there are a few that were personal and closest to her heart, in no particular order of importance they are as follows... Missing & Exploited Children, because her grand daughter Kimberly Rae, her daughter JaDee's child, has been on the list since 1976 and can still be seen in the 25 year + section. Kim's fate and whereabouts remain unknown. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Conchita desperately hoped for a cure to be found to prevent another mother from losing her child too young, as she did with the passing of her son Ramon at the age of 42 from Lymphoma. Ironically, in the end, it was a form of Lukemia that took her life as well. Cerebral Palsy claimed her Great Grandson Hunter at birth and we know that she wished she could have done more to help. It never affected her love for him though, as his pictures are proudly displayed throughout her home. Cerebral Palsy International Research Foundation is working hard to find a way to reverse the effects, identify cases earlier and improve a patients future outlook for better quality of life and learning. The McClain Houses of Tampa Bay, "Emerald House", has a very special resident by the name of Carmen Lea. Carmen is a Grand Niece to Conchita and Jack who enjoys a certain amount of independence and normality because these homes continue to exist. They are mostly funded by the parents and families of the disabled, so any help they can get is most greatly appreciated to insure their residents have a safe and secure home. Alzheimer's has hit a little too close to home and some very special relations to Conchita have been deeply affected by this terrible disease and the long term collateral damage it causes to families of the loved ones. She counted her blessings, as did we...because she stayed very sharp until her very last day. Gifting to any of these causes would honor her memory and help to make a difference...
